Goddess Chocolate
Goddess Chocolate is a high-end single-origin Ecuador chocolate bar. Through research, I was inspired by the history of cacao and the meaning it represented. Mesoamerica tells the stories of Ixcacao, the Mayan Goddess of the cacao tree whose name means "Cacao Woman.” Ixcacao was an earth goddess and was adored by the common people as a goddess of abundance, compassion and fertility. Incorporating “Goddess” into the name felt nostalgic and regal for a high-end treat.
Inspiration followed as I started to explore concepts for the overall visual identity. I decided to focus on the single-origin area of Ecuador as it has been recognized as one of the largest fine cocoa producers in the world. My mood board was filled with intricate, vibrant textiles and patterns of birds that represented Ecuador's culture. My goal was to embrace the vibrancy and design a brand that felt approachable and luxurious with bright pops of color on a dark moody backdrop to really let the colors sing. I really enjoyed designing this project and I hope you enjoy it too! Fun fact: dark chocolate is my favorite guilty pleasure!
